CHS girls clobber Effie Kokrine

Playing in Fairbanks on the last leg of an extended road trip, the Lady Wolverines clobbered conference foe Effie Kokrine, 70-4, on Feb. 1.

Alice Graves, Alayna Goss, and Katie Pallas lead Cordova High School with 14 points apiece.

“We were able to practice our offense and execute each option,” said Cordova Coach Stacie Webber.  “The girls were pleased to get a win but we know the feeling of being beat, so we cheered for the other team and encouraged them as best we could. I loved the teamwork we had and the sportsmanship the girls expressed on the court.”

In a prior conference game at SuValley on Jan. 30, Cordova lost 50-14. Shaunessi Schandel was top scorer for CHS with 9 points.

The Lady Wolverines next travel to Valdez for the big Valdez Elks Tournament on Feb. 9-11.
