CPD dispatch report

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between May 29, 2023 through June 4, 2023. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MAY 29, MONDAY:

  • At 3:58 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.

MAY 30, TUESDAY:

  • At 2:15 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport
  • At 8:42 a.m. a caller reported that a window had been broken at a local business sometime during the night. A case file was started, and the incident is under investigation.
  • At 1:03 p.m. a caller reported that someone had siphoned gas out of his airplane while parked at the city airstrip. A case file was started, and the incident is under investigation.
  • At 4:32 p.m. a caller reported a minor accident was reported on Sorrell Road. The individuals involved exchanged information and a police report was made.

MAY 31, WEDNESDAY:

  • At 1:34 a.m. an individual turned in a knife and lanyard that they had found.
  • At 10:01 a.m. an individual turned in a wallet they had found on the street.
  • At 6:56 p.m. a caller reported a person had been yelling outside their business and then sped off in their vehicle. An officer was advised.
  • At 10:19 p.m. an individual reported they had lost their raft and were stranded on shore at Blue Fjord near Whittier, Alaska. Troopers were advised. 

JUNE 01, THURSDAY:

  • At 1:34 p.m. a caller reported he had been threatened by a fellow employee. Officers responded.
  • At 11:52 p.m. a caller reported a REDDI Report. An officer responded. 

JUNE 02, FRIDAY:

  • At 1:10 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 11:28 a.m. a caller reported a suspicious vehicle was parked with someone possibly living in the vehicle. An officer was advised.
  • At 4:10 p.m. a caller reported there were people drinking at the Fisherman’s Memorial. An officer responded.

JUNE 03, SATURDAY: 

  • At 12:48 p.m. an individual was in the lobby to turn himself in for a Bench Warrant. An officer responded and arrested a civilian for that warrant.
  • At 8:26 p.m. a caller requested an officer check on a friend, as they could hear yelling in their apartment. An officer responded.
  • At 9:43 p.m. a caller reported a REDDI Incident, an officer responded and arrested a civilian for DUI.
  •  At 11:22 p.m. a caller reported a vehicle had gone off the road on Power Creek Road and all the vehicle occupants except one person were out of the vehicle. The fire department responded. Officers responded and arrested a civilian for DUI.

JUNE 04, SUNDAY:

  • At 12:56 p.m. a call was received from a vessel with an injured person on board. The Coast Guard was contacted.
  • At 4:01 p.m. a caller reported a woman was seen trying to get into vehicles near AC. An officer was advised and responded.

DMV HOURS:  Monday-Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted. Payments are now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, and citations.
