Old Crow Medicine Show will headline Salmonfest 2023

Salmonfest, the annual music and more festival on the Kenai Peninsula, has announced that headliners for the Aug. 4 to Aug. 6 festivities will include Old Crow Medicine Show, Sierra Ferrell, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Leftover Salmon, and Sam Nelson of X Ambassadors.

The Grammy Award-winning Old Crow Medicine Show, which began in late 1998 in Ithica, New York, is known for its old-time, folk and alternative country music. Their repertoire includes original songs and pre-World War II blues and folk music.

The event, held on the first weekend of August at the Kenai Peninsula Fairgrounds in Ninilchik, features 60 bands on four stages, over 100 vendors, Alaska’s top food trucks and premium brewers. One of the most colorful features of the festival is the Salmon Causeway, where people can learn, engage and take action on many environmental issues facing Alaska and the world at large.

Since 2015, Salmonfest has donated nearly $250,000 to salmon causes and related initiatives.

Salmonfest strives to be a zero-waste event, with discarded materials designed to be repurposed into other useful resources. Salmonfest also uses steel pints in its beer tents, compostable serving dishes and cutlery, and sources local goods and services whenever possible.

Tickets for Salmonfest 2023 may be purchased online at www.salmonfestalaska.org. A link to making reservations to adjacent campgrounds is also available on that website. Salmonfest provides shuttle bus service from some of multiple campsites in the area for those with a Salmonfest wristband.
