Arctic Encounter, a participant in the 2023 Arctic Circle Assembly in Reykjavik, Iceland, is co-hosting a gathering of Friends of the Far North on Friday in Reykjavik. The Arctic Circle Assembly is the largest annual international gathering In the Arctic, attended by over 2,000 people from over 69 countries. 

Co-hosts for the networking evening of old and new at the weeklong conference are the Arctic Circle Assembly, the Olgoonik Corp, and the Wilson Center. 

Rachel Kallander is the founder and executive director of Arctic Encounter, the largest Arctic policy event in North America.  

Olgoonik Corp. is an Alaska Native village corporation representing 1,600 shareholders in Wainwright, on Alaska’s Arctic slope.  

The Wilson Center is a nonpartisan entity chartered by the U.S. Congress to provide council and insight on global affairs to policymakers. In 2019 the Wilson center was named the #1 regional studies think tank in the world. Public members of the Wilson Center include Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
