“Spider-Man Homecoming,” will show at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 in the Cordova Center’s North Star Theater. Donations accepted. Proceeds to benefit the Cordova Junior/Senior High Tech Club.
Museum 50th Anniversary Gala
Join the Cordova Historical Society in their annual fundraiser for the Cordova Historical Museum and 50th anniversary celebration from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at the museum in Cordova. Quilters’ tea and auction
Cordova Northwind Quilters invite the public to their Annual Tea & Auction 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 5 at the Cordova Center, an afternoon of tea and treats, plus silent and live auctions. Proceeds of this event will support two four-year scholarships that the guild sponsors each year to encourage post-secondary education for Cordova students.
Ocean acidification round table discussion
Ever wonder how ocean acidification works? Come to round table discussion on ocean acidification 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at the U.S. Forest Service’s 3rd floor conference room, for background information and a chance to tell scientists what you would like to learn about ocean acidification research. Ocean acidification researchers will be present and other scientists on the line answering questions and looking for feedback in this round table discussion. Sponsored by Alaska Ocean Observing System, Alaska Marine Conservation Council and the Prince William Sound Science Center.
Photography exhibition at Reluctant Fisherman
An exhibition of photographer Mark Hoover’s work will be on display in the dining room at the Reluctant Fisherman Inn’s heART wall beginning Nov. 9 through the end of the month.
Annual membership meeting and turkey shoot
The Cordova Trap and Gun Club is holding its annual meeting, barbecue and turkey shoot Sunday, Nov. 5 at the public shooting range on Sheridan Glacier Road. Food pantry services
The Little Chapel is administering Salvation Army extension food pantry services. People needing assistance can pick up food on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Little Chapel. In an emergency at other times, call the Little Chapel at 907-424-3629. Native Village of Eyak administers food distribution on behalf of the Food Bank of Alaska.
