A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak aircrew medevaced a cruise ship passenger with reported stroke symptoms on Tuesday, Sept. 3 from near Hinchinbrook Island to a Guardian Flight team in Cordova for transport to medical services in Anchorage.
The MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew, forward deployed to Cordova, hoisted the 55-year-old woman from the cruise ship Island Princess, along with the ship’s nurse for the wing-to-wing transfer.
The medevac came after Sector Anchorage Command Center personnel received the medevac request from cruise shup personnel at mid-morning.
The Coast Guard had no comment on the patient’s condition.
