Law & Order: March 26-April 1

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between March 26-April 1. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Friday, March 26
4:32 p.m. Dispatch performed a background check for an individual.

Saturday, March 27
1:20 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 2:25 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 5:46 p.m. A caller reported they locked their keys inside their vehicle while it was running. An officer responded and provided assistance. 9:07 p.m. A caller reported a blue hand drill was stolen out of their residence. An officer was notified, and an investigation is ongoing. 8:03 p.m. An officer responded to 2-mile Copper River Highway for reports of a reckless driver. The officer was unable to locate the vehicle. An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport.

Sunday, March 28
12:43 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 5:17 p.m. The hospital requested an ambulance for a medical transport to the airport, the ambulance responded and conducted the transport. 10:35 p.m. An officer conducted a bar check.

Monday, March 29
An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport. 2:01 a.m. A caller reported a backpack with a large sum of money and medications was stolen from their residence. An officer responded and spoke with the caller. The bag and its contents were recovered later in the day. 1:12 p.m. An officer met with an individual for follow-up on a previous incident. Missing property recovered by Cordova PD was returned. 1:56 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 6:10 p.m. An officer served court paperwork. 7:14 p.m. An officer went to a residence for service of court paperwork. 7:21 p.m. An officer advised someone they were trespassed from another individual’s property. 9:00 p.m. An officer conducted a bar check. 10:52 p.m. An officer responded to a residence to check on an individual’s electronic monitoring equipment.

Tuesday, March 30
12:31 a.m. An officer conducted a bar check. 12:57 a.m. An officer provided transportation for an intoxicated individual. 1:11 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 3:03 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 6:20 p.m. An officer served court paperwork. 7:41 p.m. An officer served court paperwork. 10:27 An officer conducted a security check of a business.

Wednesday, March 31
An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport. 7:48 a.m. An officer went to City Hall for training. 11:04 a.m. An officer went to Trident Seafoods – North Plant for training. 12:47 p.m. A caller reported their teenage child had received a vape from another juvenile at school. An investigation is ongoing. 2:29 p.m. An officer provided fingerprinting for an individual at the Cordova Police station. 2:32 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport.

Thursday, April 1
2:56 a.m. An officer assisted an individual in getting their vehicle out of a ditch. 8:00 a.m. A caller requested to speak with an officer regarding an ongoing investigation. 11:15 a.m. An individual met with an officer at the station regarding an ongoing investigation. 1:44 p.m. An officer went to Trident Seafoods – North Plant for training. 2:25 p.m. An officer went to City Hall for training. 3:37 p.m. An officer went to the Cordova Court for administrative duties. 5:18 p.m. A caller reported receiving a scam call. 7:48 p.m. The Cordova Volunteer Fire Department conducted a drill at the boat harbor.

Open Tuesday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. unless otherwise posted. Following COVID-19 protocols, the DMV is available by appointment only. Closed for lunch 11:30 a.m.-noon.
