The Cordova High School basketball schedule has been revised considerably, following a stay of extracurricular activities due to rising COVID-19 case counts.
“The new schedule makes our long road trip a little longer, and our home games have been moved back a few days to accommodate Su-Valley’s request as they work with the ferry schedule,” said Cordova School Activities Director.
The Cordova girls and boys teams missed the Rally at Denali tournament Jan. 20-22 at Su-Valley, as well as road games against Nenana on January 24-25, and a one day matchup against Effie Kokrine here on Jan. 31.
To make up missed games, the Wolverine squads will start a 10-day road trip with the Valdez Elks Tournament on Feb. 10-12; followed by two sets of JV and varsity games Feb. 14-15 in Glennallen; a JV boys and girls and boys varsity games Feb. 16 in Tok on Feb. 16; a one game series of JV and varsity games against Effie Kokrine on Feb. 17; and two days of JV and varsity games against Nenana on Feb. 23 and 25.
The Wolverines will return to play their final home games of the season here against Su-Valley on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 23 and 24.
In a span of 11 days, the Cordova teams will have played every team in the conference.
They then will have a brief time to recover before heading back to Tok March. 10-12 for the Conference Playoffs.
