Cordova’s new generation of flyboys and their toys

Ready for some flag football!

Cordova’s flag football season culminates Aug. 26 at 1 p.m., when the Seahawks take on the 49’ers during their Super Bowl game. The public is invited to the grassy field on Whitshed Road to witness the action. 

A 7-hour cruise onboard the M/V Aurora

The Alaska Marine Highway ferry Aurora departed Whittier Aug. 6, headed to Cordova. Bright, sunny skies accompanied the vessel through Prince William Sound, providing optimal conditions for onboard photographers to capture Alaska’s beauty, fishing boats and tenders, and pleasure craft. It was just another day in Alaska.
