Woodrow is ASMI’s new communications director

Jeremy Woodrow has joined the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute as its new communications director, filling the vacancy left when Tyson Fick left to become executive director of Alaska Bering Sea Crabbers.

Woodrow most recently served as communications officer for the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities.  He previously worked with ASMI as an intern in the communications program and with ASMI’s former public relations firm Schledermayer & Associates Alaska.

Woodrow has a bachelor’s degree in public relations and advertising from Northern Arizona University. He hails from a family engaged in commercial fisheries.

As communications director he will oversee efforts targeting in-state and national audiences to raise awareness on the value of Alaska seafood.

ASMI is a public-private partnership between the state of Alaska and the Alaska seafood industry established to foster economic development of fisheries. ASMI plays a key role in positioning Alaska’s seafood industry as a competitive market-driven food production industry and premium global brand.
