Law & Order: Dec. 1-Dec. 7

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 12-1-17 thru 12-7-17. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.                       

DECEMBER 1, Friday:

Nothing to report.

DECEMBER 2, Saturday:

1:52 p.m. Caller reported a vehicle was blocking their driveway and with the ice on the road it is a hazard. Officers contacted the registered owner who moved the vehicle. 11:06 While on patrol officer found a dog sitting on the steps of the TSA building. Officer took the dog into the pound.  Pet sitter later claimed dog.

DECEMBER 4, Monday:

Nothing to report.

DECEMBER 5, Tuesday:

1:26 a.m. Caller reported received threating text messages. Officer spoke with individual.

DECEMBER 6, Wednesday:

6:48 p.m. Caller reported a tree had fallen into the middle of the road on Railroad Ave and Breakwater. The City Shop was advised and moved the tree out of the road.

DECEMBER 7, Thursday:

Nothing to report.

Notice 3 of 4:

On 9/20/2017, Cordova Police impounded an unmarked/unregistered boat trailer with seine net with no known owner at 100 First Street, Cordova, Alaska, as it was abandoned on private property.  Unless within fifteen days after the date of the notice (8/28/17),  either: (a) the vehicle is removed and stored in a lawful manner, or (b) a person with an interest in the vehicle requests a hearing under Section 10.54.060, the city may without further notice impound and dispose of the vehicle by sale, destruction or other disposition authorized by law.

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV:

DMV HOURS: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday unless otherwise posted. Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
