Toys for Tots

Every child in Cordova receives a free toy Friday, Dec. 22 at Mt. Eccles commons. Those enrolled in school will receive theirs during school hours. Any child not enrolled, ages 0-18, may pick up their gift between 1 and 4 p.m. Stop by, meet Santa, enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, and pick up a free toy. Toys for Tots is brought to Cordova by the U.S. Marine Corps, Cordova School District administration and staff, and many community volunteers including Sandie Ponte, USCG wives, and the National Honor Society.

Bake Sale

Cordova Kids are hosting a bake sale in front of Nichols from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22 to raise funds in support of rebuilding the Top-to-Top sailboat “Patchamama”. The vessel was damaged in a storm this winter and is in need of repairs. To read more, visit https://toptotop.org/our-story

Last night of Moonlight Madness

Rally the Regions Hardwood Classic

Rally Alaska presents the 3rd annual Rally the Regions Hardwood Classic Dec. 27-30 at Dimond High School in Anchorage. High School Basketball teams to participate are Girls: Bristol Bay, Chugiak JV, Cordova, Craig, Lumen Christi, Unalakleet, Unalaska and West JV. Boys: Bristol Bay, Cordova, Craig, Haines, Hooper Bay, Lumen Christi, Unalakleet and Unalaska. Food pantry services

The Little Chapel is administering Salvation Army extension food pantry services. People needing assistance can pick up food on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Little Chapel. In an emergency at other times, call the Little Chapel at 907-424-3629. Native Village of Eyak administers food distribution on behalf of the Food Bank of Alaska.
