A five-week-old male sea otter pup found crossing a road near the Homer spit on Nov. 1 and brought to the Alaska SeaLife Center is now in stable condition, recuperating from dehydration, malnourishment and gastrointestinal issues.  He will remain under 24-hour a day care by ASLC veterinarians for at least a few more months. Three other otters in the Center’s Wildlife Response Program are also doing well. More information on this nonprofit center, which offers a 24-hour hotline for the public to report stranded marine mammals or birds, is at www.alaskasealife.org.
