Alaska Marine Highway System officials said Feb. 25 that the M/V Aurora would add a Valdez port call to its schedule for Friday, March 1, to assist in transporting traveling student volleyball, basketball and wrestling teams.
The M/V Aurora was cancelled for much of February for repairs and March 1 is set to be the first sailing after the gap in service. Cordova school sports teams and activities had to book last-minute flights to attend February events.
According to Alaska Department of Transportation officials all affected passengers were being notified ad re-booked or refunded as necessary, and the new sailing schedule was available at ferryalaska.com.
