Cordova Jr./Sr. High School awarded 33 students with high school diplomas on Saturday, May 19. Thirteen of those graduated with honors.
The Cordova High School band played the processional and senior members of the Cordova High School choir sang the national anthem. Guest speaker Jim Ujioka of Valdez addressed the audience. Ujioka, who grew up in Cordova, is a response coordinator for the Alyeska Pipeline Service Co. and on the board of the Eyak Corporation.
Salutatorian Oliva Carroll and valedictorian Zoe Russin addressed the class during the ceremony. Principal Kate Williams presented the class and diplomas were presented by Barb Jewell, president of the board of education, and superintendent Alex Russin.
