Obituary: Kimberly Ann Mykland

July 14, 1953 – April 25, 2020

Kimberly Ann Mykland.

Kimberly Ann Mykland passed away April 25 at Providence Hospice Care in Everett, Washington. Kimberly Ann Hammer was born July 14, 1953 at Maynard Hospital in Seattle.

Kim, as many knew her by, first came to Cordova in the early ’70s. She worked the kelp season and Club Bar. She was hired as a cook and deckhand and seined in 1982, where she first met her husband James. She fished on the flats, during the 1982 silver season and realized that was enough fun for her!

She became a bookkeeper for a number of local businesses and mended gillnets on the docks in her spare time. Kim loved her time spent in Alaska and was greatly loved by all that knew her. She will be sadly missed by all.

This photo shows her surrounded and comforted by her beloved doggies, Rosalita, Annabella and Zoe. She wished everyone well and for us to respect one another, at all times. Rejoice in the Lord, for he is our one true savior!

As per her request, no memorial service was conducted. She celebrated all who cared for her, and for all to know she is in a better place now!
