The deadline for an online questionnaire on community policing has been extended from Friday, Aug. 21 to Aug. 31. The survey asks respondents what methods and priorities they would like the Cordova Police Department to follow.

“It’s sort of like the census — it’s so important, and we would really love community feedback, but people are busy and, sometimes, it slips people’s minds,” City Manager Helen Howarth said. “I hope that we can get as many people to participate as possible, because it’s a really important issue right now.”

Spanish and Tagalog versions of the survey are now also available. Survey data will inform public discussions with Mayor Clay Koplin and interim Police Chief Nate Taylor. Howarth said she is looking forward to studying the data collected in the survey.

“It’s sort of like waiting for Christmas,” Howarth said.
