Wow! What a year. Ever since you began your education way back in elementary school, you have dreamed and waited for your Senior year of High School. Dances, proms, sports, music, class projects, your friends, these were all part of your final year of being a student at Cordova High School. But no. COVID-19 changed it all. This became nothing like you thought it would be. Things happen and it is very unfortunate that this occurred during your year. Many of the traditional activities were not to be. You did not get to experience a traditional High School Senior Year. But this disappointment did not stop you. You studied online, went to classes, you created your own entertainment with friends, participated in the sports and activities that could be offered and achieved the goal that you set out to do years ago. You graduated from High School. The trials that you endured this year have only made you stronger.

Your achievements demonstrate that you are destined to become a great generation of leaders, empowered with respect for others regardless of differences and a passion for being fair and getting the job done right. The strength you have gained by dealing with this pandemic will inspire you to find solutions. You will seek intelligent answers to the issues that you will face. You have gained strength through adversity and are ready to move on to play a role in the leadership of our city, state, country.

The Class of 2021 is an inspiration to us all. Congratulations, good job and good fortune.
