Hometown Holiday Kick-off

Community Nativity Display
The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints located at 1 Mile Whitshed Road is hosting their annual Community Nativity Display from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10 and 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11. All are welcome.
The Nutcracker, Land of the Sweets
Current Rhythms is performing selections from the Land of the Sweets and more original pieces, including the debut group choreography of graduating senior company dancer, Serena Herschleb. Performances are at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, at the North Star Theater. $10 general admission. Masks required.

The Catch
The Catch, Cordova’s emerging literary and arts publication, is accepting submissions for its winter issue until Dec. 15. The theme is “tracks.” Submissions are open to all ages and may be made in any medium. Contact jillian.cordovapubliclibrary@gmail.com.
Christmas ornament auction
CCMC’s Hospital Auxiliary Christmas Ornament Auction is open for bidding until 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17. Visit tinyurl.com/auxauction, click on the photo of the ornament you like and comment your bid. Ornaments are hanging in the front lobby window at CCMC’s pharmacy entrance for your viewing pleasure.
Breakfast with Santa
Kids, bring your parents! The Moose Lodge is hosting their annual FREE Breakfast with Santa from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 19. Jen Pallas will be available to take pictures.

Snowman Competition
Bring your loved ones out to build a snowman behind the Cordova Community Medical Center then take a photo and tag the hospital on Facebook or email your photo to Faith at FaithWJ@cdvcmc.com. One winner will be selected at the beginning of each month to receive a prize.

Morning music
Join local musicians every Friday from 8 to 8:40 a.m. at Mt. Eccles Elementary School for Morning Music. The new 4H music curriculum with song videos, songbook and fiddle tab is available as a free download at cordovamusiccamp.org. Food Pantry
The Salvation Army food pantry is located at 514 First St. Primary distribution is the third Monday of each month from 4-6 p.m. If you need food assistance or are interested in volunteering, please contact Katherine Mead at 907-429-7177. COVID-19 Vaccine Sign-Up
All Cordovans who want to receive the COVID-19 vaccine are asked to register at CDVCMC.com or call 907-424-3045. If registered, you will receive a call to set up an appointment as soon as you are eligible, and the vaccine is available.

To schedule a free COVID test, contact Ilanka Community Health Center at 907-424-3622 or Cordova Community Medical Center at 907-424-8200. Patients are asked to bring their insurance paperwork as the clinics can get reimbursed.
