Carols, city tree and Santa light up Cordova’s Main Street

Cordova’s Hometown Holiday Kick-off on Friday, Dec. 10, was energetic and well attended despite cold temperatures and stormy weather in the days leading up to the event.

Festivities began with carols in front of the Cordova Center. Santa was escorted down Main Street by Cordova Volunteer Fire Department to hear gift requests from kids. Cheers and applause erupted as the city Christmas tree was lit. Afterward, crowds packed into the Cordova Center to shop the annual holiday bazaar. Businesses participating said they were happy to see crowds come shop locally.

The Hometown Holiday Kick-off is organized by the Cordova Chamber of Commerce.
