As Cordova embarks on the start of the fishing season, the museum has been working to build a collection of various fishing vessels that have plied the waters over the years. The next few submissions in this column will feature some of the recognizable vessels and old cannery locales.

This beautiful vessel, the Copper King, arrives at the dock to unload a haul of salmon handled a little differently in the 20s, 30s and 40s. Do you know more history about the Copper King? The Cordova Historical Society would love to learn more. Email crhs59research@gmail.com so the society can add more information into the files on this classic fishing boat.
