Proposals for GAPP global partnership funding due by July 25

A nonprofit entity that advocates for the domestic pollock fisheries is seeking proposals through July 25 for its global partnership funding to bring new pollock products on to the retail market.

The Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP) is now in its fifth year of the partnership program to boost efforts for new consumer products made from wild Alaska pollock.

“We are seeking the risk-takers, the game-changers, the dreamers, to apply for funding and think big about how to bring new wild Alaska pollock products to market and continue to turn consumers into Wild Alaska Pollock fans,” said Bob Desautel, GAPP chair and chief executive officer of Global Seas, a West Coast vessel operator and ship management firm.

To date the GAPP program has funded over 80 different products or promotions that raise awareness of wild Alaska pollock among consumers worldwide.

Proposals are welcome from any organization, in any country, and operating in any market, that are interested in building awareness and demand for wild Alaska pollock.

All proposals submitted to GAPP by July 25 will be reviewed by the GAPP partnership program committee and board of directors. Final funding announcements are to be made by mid-September.
