Terry (Shawn) Burleson passed away quietly on July 26 here in Cordova. He was 64.
Shawn was born in Pecos, Texas on April 15, 1959 to parents Perry Wayne Burleson and Marvlyn Mae Buford Burleson.
Shawn moved to Alaska in 1970, where he attended Palmer High School. He traveled the state before making Cordova his home in around 2007.
Shawn is survived by siblings Janet Burleson-Baxter (Fred), Gary Burleson (Jennifer), Marce Ewing, and Jennifer Jones (Eric). Shawn is also survived by his three children: Shawn Christopher Burleson, Jessica Burleson, and Kwayah Lichterfeld. And, of course, his trusted dog, D.O.G.
Shawn loved gardening and tending to his house of plants. He also had a love for the water here in Prince William Sound, and staying at the cabin in Deep Bay.
Shawn will truly be missed in our small town. We will miss your smile, your jokes, and your friendly personality.
