Toys for Tots distributes to elementary-aged and younger kids

Amidst a national toy shortage, Toys for Tots will only be able to provide toys for elementary-aged and younger children in Cordova this year, officials said.

Mt. Eccles Elementary School students received toys Thursday, Dec. 17. Parents of younger non-school-aged children, or those who homeschool, are invited to visit the Cordova School District Office to select a toy for their child. Wrapping paper will also be provided. Parents will be able to select a toy between 8 a.m.-noon and between 1-5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17; Monday, Dec. 21; Tuesday, Dec. 22; and Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Toys for Tots is a public charity operated by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. The organization has partnered with the Cordova School District to distribute toys for Christmas during previous years.
