Polar Plunge
More than 1,000 people took the Polar Plunge into Goose Lake in Anchorage on Dec. 16, raising $300,000 for Special Olympics Alaska summer and winter games for athletes with special needs. Christmas holiday season ushers into town
The first weekend of December is historically the official start of the holiday season in Cordova, beginning with the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 1 in front of the Cordova Chamber of Commerce.The festivities were led by Santa Claus, who arrived via a sleigh pulled by a fire engine, and escorted by the local volunteer fire department....
4th Annual Secret Santa underway
Over 100 envelopes ready for Cordova’s 4th Annual Secret Santa event, each containing a single name of a local resident. Search and rescue training
