At Your Library: Need a good read?

Books in a Library

The staff at your library has a myriad of tools at their beck and call to help choose titles for our community collection. One of the most useful websites we have found and use is called: “Goodreads.”

Goodreads is the world’s largest site for readers and book recommendations. The site was launched in January of 2007 and for over 10 years has been on a mission to help people find and share books they love.

Goodreads is like perusing your friend’s bookshelf to find that perfect title. The site allows you to check out personalized book recommendations with a recommendation engine that analyzes 20 billion data points to give suggestions tailored to your literary tastes.

You can read reviews to find out if a book is a good fit for you and you can track the books you’re reading, have read and want to read. Recently the site chose best reads in all genres for 2017.

Here are a few of the titles they selected:

Fiction: Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
