USDA seeks offers to sell Pollock

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is seeking to buy 646 million pounds of wild Alaska Pollock sticks for use in the National School Lunch Program and other federal food and nutrition assistance programs in several states.

The solicitation was announced on March 29.

Bids are due by April 11 and acceptances will be announced by midnight April 19.

Deliveries are to be made between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31 of this year.

The frozen Pollock sticks are for federal programs in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas.
