Ferries making a return trip to Cordova during October-December are expected to fill up rapidly, Alaska Marine Highway System officials said.

The only trips available during this period continue on to Juneau, a route that is usually booked up quickly, said Monika Reghetti, manager of the Cordova AMHS terminal. Reghetti urged Cordovans to make their reservations promptly to avoid being stranded. As of Wednesday, Sept. 16, the Oct. 12 return sailing to Cordova is already almost full, she said.

“People have to plan ahead and make their reservations early,” Reghetti said.
