Cordova reports 1 travel-related virus case

Cordova reported one travel-related resident novel coronavirus case Tuesday, March 23.

Of the 125 local cases identified so far, 107 have been Cordova residents and 18 have been non-residents. Of those cases, four are believed to be currently active. Three cases have required hospitalization, according to data published by Ilanka Community Health Center. One Cordova resident who tested positive for the novel coronavirus died Nov. 18.

As of Monday, March 22, 1,055 people in Cordova have received the first of two coronavirus vaccine shots, and 689 have received both shots, according to data published by the city.

The public can sign up for vaccination online at www.cdvcmc.com or by calling 907-424-3045. Coronavirus testing is available at ICHC, Mondays and Fridays from 2-3 p.m.; and at Cordova Community Medical Center, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-9:30 a.m.
