Recently, the Cordova Historical Society has been finishing the set-up of the Archive Research Room within the inner sanctum of the new museum. All the original photos in the society’s collection are stored there in fireproof, locking file cabinets. Talk about treasures!
Here’s one we recently processed — so many photos are unlabeled and lacking names, except for this one! It’s a picture from one of the many Pioneer Igloo gatherings. And while we are grateful for the names, an easy way to identify folks in a photograph is to make a photocopy and number the copy rather than the original!
