Recently, the Cordova Historical Society has been finishing the set-up of the Archive Research Room within the inner sanctum of the new museum. All the original photos in the society’s collection are stored there in fireproof, locking file cabinets. Talk about treasures!
Here’s one we recently processed — so many photos are unlabeled and lacking names, except for this one! It’s a picture from one of the many Pioneer Igloo gatherings. And while we are grateful for the names, an easy way to identify folks in a photograph is to make a photocopy and number the copy rather than the original!
In numerical order, those pictured are: Al Weathers, Mary Johnson, Dan Guarini, Ole’ Finnesand, Chuck Durant, Doris Anderson, Richard Davis, Paddy Fitzpatrick, John LeFevre, Paul Pappas, Bob Korn, Hazel Tandstad, Herman Kuho, Jerry Cochran, Otto Koppen, Doc Chase, Marie Craig, Dave Kozachuck, Unidentified, Willie Craig, J. Carrizzi, Al Roth, Lucille Discher, Jack Bakki, Rose Weathers, Dee Curran, Harry Curran, Ole’ Hammer, Myra McDonald, Gail Steen, Walter Wolf, Kate or Ellen Chase, Agnes Roth, Helen Carlson Thomas, Jeff Thomas, Peggy Durant, Minnie Arvidson, Alvin Weathers, Ole’ Peterson, Eric Weathers, Jane Curran, Heather Curran, Marj Weathers, Carol Davis, Chuck Davis, Pat Davis, Dagmar Davis, Dean Curran, Kay Steen, and Nick Kusmas.
