Cordova reports 3 new virus cases

Cordova reported three new cases of the novel coronavirus Tuesday, March 2.

Of the 112 local cases identified so far, 21 are believed to be currently active. Ninety-five cases have been Cordova residents and 17 have been non-residents. Three cases have required hospitalization, according to data published by Ilanka Community Health Center. One Cordova resident who tested positive for the novel coronavirus died Nov. 18.

As of Monday, March 1, 721 people in Cordova have received the first of two coronavirus vaccine shots, and 433 have received both shots, according to data published by the city. Coronavirus testing is available at Ilanka Community Health Center, Mondays and Fridays from 2-3 p.m.; and at Cordova Community Medical Center, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9-9:30 a.m.
