Allison wins Cordova mayoral race by 2 votes
Cordova City Council voted unanimously Wednesday, March 16, to certify the results of the 2022 mayoral election in favor of candidate David Allison.
Cordova Council discusses local election, south harbor project
Cordova City Council convened March 2 to discuss myriad of topics, including the south harbor rebuild. The city is intent on keeping the project rolling and is on a quest for more funding. An overwhelming majority of Cordovans voted yes on Proposition 1, which allows the city to take a $2 million dollar Department of Environmental Conservation loan.

Nicole Barela, Cordova’s new postmaster since Feb. 12, plans to revamp how residents get their mail. By the weekend of Saturday, March 5, Barela plans to roll out a new package delivery system that she hopes will cut wait time and reduce workload on postal staff.
Prop 1 passes in Cordova election; mayoral race too close to call
Cordova voters passed Proposition 1 on Tuesday, March 1, supporting a $2 million loan to help fund the South Harbor rebuild with an initial count of 756 yes votes and 52 no votes. Preliminary election results have been tallied and released by the city clerk early on Wednesday, March 2, with 827 ballots counted.
Polls open for Election Day in Cordova

Native Village of Eyak is looking for a new owner for The Cordova Times. The price? Free. Without a suitable candidate, the 108-year-old newspaper may cease to publish. The Tribal government in Cordova, Alaska, has owned the local weekly newspaper since April 2016.
