Law & Order: May 24-30

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 5-24-19 thru 5-30-19. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MAY 24, Friday:

10:29 a.m. Caller reported he was attacked by two dogs on Whitshed Road. An officer spoke with the victim. 7:35 p.m. Caller requested an ambulance to transport an individual to the hospital. The ambulance responded and transported the patient to the hospital. 9:56 a.m. CCMC requested an ambulance for a medical transport to the airport. The ambulance responded and transported the patient to the hospital.

MAY 25, Saturday:

12:48 a.m. Caller reported they had been pickpocketed and they were confronting who they believed to be the suspect. 12:48 a.m. officer arrived at the scene and kept the peace while trying to solve the dispute.

MAY 26, Sunday:

7:02 p.m. Caller requested emergency assistance for a medical emergency in a remote location.  Dispatch notified the U.S. Coast Guard as well as the Cordova Fire Department.  

MAY 27, Monday:

10:12 p.m. Caller requested an officer respond to main street to remove an individual from their business. The officer responded finding Jose Alvarado, 44, of Ketchikan Alaska. The officer arrested Alvarado for Violating his Conditions of Release. 

MAY 28, Tuesday:

5:12 p.m. Caller came to the police department to report an assault. The officer is investigating the report.

MAY 29, Wednesday:

Nothing to report.

MAY 30, Thursday: 

5:30 a.m. received a sprinkler alarm from an industrial building near the old harbor. The fire department responded and found the alarm to be false.

DMV HOURS:From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday unless otherwise posted. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
